Hello from Ms Fearon, Vice-Principal

Hello

I am Ms C Fearon, Vice Principal for Standards and Improvement here in St Paul’s.

I may not teach you, but I will become a familiar face to you on the corridors, at your weekly Assembly, at your special events and in visits to your classes. My job is to get to know you well and to work with your Year Head, Mr Kearney, to make sure that you are happy here in St Paul’s and that you are being the best version of you that you can be!

I understand that some of you will make a smooth transition to ‘big school’, but I also understand that some of you are scared leaving the security of your lovely Primary Schools – where you were the ‘big boys and girls.’ Please don’t worry! We have lots of programmes that will make sure that you settle in well, including added support from Year 13 Mentors. Before you know it, you will have made lots of new friends from different Primary Schools and you will be strolling around the corridors of St Paul’s as if you were here all your lives!

You have lots to look forward to here. There is a lot of learning and I am sure you are all excited about the new subjects you will have on your timetable and the fact that you will have different teachers. There are also lots of other ways in which we help you to develop and I would encourage you all to try to get involved in at least one extra-curricular activity here. Indeed, you may discover a new talent or skill that you didn’t realise you possess. We also have lots of fun things that go on, that make our pupils love our school. As Year 8s, there will be the Christmas Pantomime to the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin; the annual Christmas Sleepover; and lots of other treats that make sure you are happy inside our doors.

I look forward to meeting you at our Transition Day in June and starting the journey of helping you be the best version of you that you can be.

Ms Christine Fearon
Vice-Principal
